• Mark Hartman
My name is Mark Hartman.  I’m originally from Helena and graduated from Capital High School.  I received my undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana and was also commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.  After briefly serving on active duty in Indiana, I transferred to the Army Reserve, moved to Virginia, and completed my Master’s in Business Administration at Virginia Tech.  After interning with Ethyl Corporation in Richmond, I moved to Washington, DC where I worked for PepsiCo.

Having had enough of the big city life, I returned to Montana, transferred to the National Guard, and worked as Operations Manager of the Red Lion Colonial Inn and then as Club Manager of the Green Meadow Country Club in Helena.  I left the National Guard as a Captain, and eventually returned to the University of Montana to complete my teaching certification in both business/marketing education and traffic education.  After teaching for one year at Bozeman High School and one year at Helena High School, I came to Sentinel in 2006.  I'm thrilled to be part of the biggest and best Marketing/DECA program in Montana!

My primary purpose at SHS is to challenge you to challenge yourselves and to think critically about the issues that we will discuss.  Remember, you get out of life what you put into it!

If you are interested in sponsoring Montana's largest DECA chapter, contact Mr. Hartman at 728-2400 x7531 or e-mail him at mahartman@mcps.k12.mt.us to find out how you can become part of the Sentinel DECA team!
