Policy revisions
New state legislation (HB 203) concerning enrollment for students who live outside the residency area of a public school district requires MCPS to make updates to two policies:
- Policy 3141 Non-Resident Students - Tuition (revision)
- Policy 7008 Tuition (revision)
The updates outline the out-of-district enrollment process for students who do not live within MCPS attendance boundaries but would like to enroll with our District. This process includes an application deadline, trustee approval and family notification procedure, among other things.
These two policy revisions are available for public review and comment until April 2, 2024. The Board of Trustees will discuss these policies at the April 9, 2024, public meeting.
