Middle school is an incredible time for students. Their minds and bodies are changing, friends become increasingly important, and they begin to begin to act and think more independently. Young people in this age group are caught in the tension between approaching adulthood and lingering childhoods and benefit from help to guide their growth and development. These are just a few of the reasons I find working with middle school students so fulfilling.
School social work is an essential, integral part of the educational process. My goal is to provide a comprehensive, developmental social work program addressing the social and emotional development of students. As a student advocate, I recognize the uniqueness, dignity and personal worth of each individual and work collaboratively with students, parents, educators and community members to support student success.
