Ms. Sara Ibis
Hi, I'm Ms. Ibis!
My pronouns are she/her/hers.
I have been teaching for 10 years. I've taught 3rd, 5th and 6th grade in Montana and Minnesota. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Affairs from Augustana University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education from Hamline University. I'm also a Certified Montana Master Naturalist.
I'm passionate about project and place-based learning, and I absolutely love teaching STEM concepts. I am particularly interested in the intersection of STEM and Civics, and how we inspire our students to be future leaders of our truly special community.
I am a proud recipient of honors from the National Science Teaching Association, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Missoula Education Foundation.
Outside of school, I volunteer for the Owl Research Institute and I'm an avid birder. I enjoy hiking with my dogs, eating Thai food, going to Paddleheads games and watching horror movies.
When I grow up, I want to be a marine biologist or a storm chaser.
