MCPS Assessment Priorities

  • What are the Assessment Priorities for MCPS?

We believe in developing and creating a balanced assessment system in order to use different forms of formative and summative assessments. Thus, the MCPS Building Principal PLC has identified key components necessary to build a strong, effective balanced assessment system that informs our teaching and learning improvement practices.
    • Establish a clear purpose.
    • Create clear targets.
    • Build sound design with key components at school and district level.
    • Practice effective communication of instruction, learning, results, and programs.
    • Involve students in their own reflection and feedback
