• Sentinel receives solar power

    With the help of Sentinel teacher David Burtch and his students, the school received a $58,000 NorthWestern Energy grant.  The grant allowed the students to install 33 250-watt solar panels on Sentinel High Schools Roof.  Click here to learn more.

  • MCPS and WORD host toiletries drive

    Missoula County Public Schools and Women's Opportunity & Resource Development (WORD) are collaborating to collect donated toiletries and sundries for MCPS families experiencing homelessness.  Collection bags (donated by Rosauer's) are in each school building for donated items.  All types of toiletries and sundry items are needed.  For more information, please contact Sindie Kennedy at 728-2400, ext. 1080 or sskennedy@mcps.k12.mt.us.

  • HELLGATE HEAD FOOTBALL COACH RESIGNS AFTER 5 YEARS

    R. L Boyles, head coach of the Hellgate Knights Football team resigned his coaching position this week after five years in the position. Boyles, a physics teacher at Hellgate took the position in 2008 and has committed himself yearly to the football program and Hellgate’s students. Even with his hard work and dedication, the team experienced a losing season in 2013, with a 0 – 10 record.

     

    Mr. Boyles indicated in his resignation letter that he did not reach his personal expectations for coaching and wanted to step aside and let another coach have an opportunity to lead the team to success. “The Hellgate community thanks Mr. Boyles for his hard work, dedication to the football program at Hellgate High School, and the connections he has made with his student athletes,” commented Lisa Hendrix, Principal of Hellgate High School.

     

    The position will be posted the week of November, 25, 2013. The new head coach will be responsible for determining the coaching staff for the 2014 season.
