 This list contains scholarships received during the 2012-2013 school year and can be used as a scholarship guide for selecting scholarships to apply for during the 2012-2013 school year.

Alpine Artisans

·       Amount:Up to $500

·       Eligibility:Written description of your background in the arts, including people, placesand events that have influenced you to pursue the arts. Tell Us why you would liketo be considered for this scholarship and about your future aspirations in thearts. Essay should be 500-750 words long. Also Required: Three letters ofrecommendation (at least one of which should be from a current teacher of yours),high school transcript; and portfolio of your work.

Seeley Lake Rural Fire District

·        Amount:Will be determined at the time they are awarded.

·        Eligibility:Students of Seeley-Swan High School that wish to pursue a career in Fire,Emergency Medicine, Law enforcement, or any other career in emergency services.

Montana Sheriffs and PeaceOfficers Association

·        Amount:two scholarships available, $750.

·        Eligibility:High school graduate or successful GED completion, Must meet basic peaceofficer eligibility requirements, must have high school grade point average ofat least 2.5 preferably plans to enroll in full-time student in a Montana basedcollege or university that offers a minimum AA degree in the Criminal JusticeField, High school students applying for the fall scholarship must submit proofof enrollment intentions in university or college.

Community Service Scholarship

·        Amount:Varies

·        Eligibility:Detailed description of service to the community, see scholarship form.

Montana PTA Scholarships

·        Amount:Two $500 are available

·        Eligibility:One to a graduating high school senior, one to a current college student.

·        Deadline:April 1st, 2013

Cliff Nelson Memorial ScholarshipFund

·        Amount:$250

·        Eligibility:Must have attended Seeley-Swan High School, High school or college employmenthistory. Personal statement 100 words or less explaining future goals, lettersof recommendation from teachers/employers. Copy of school transcripts

Anonymous Donor Scholarship

·        Amount:$1,000 scholarships renewed annually for four years.

·        Eligibility:Must maintain 3.o GPA and full time status, essay including accomplishments athigh school and future accomplishments you hope to achieve in college ortechnical training and what you would like to accomplish with thatdegree/training.

Buick Achievers ScholarshipProgram

·        Amount:100 scholarships each up to $25,000/year. 1000 scholarship each at $2,000.

·        Eligibility:Encourage the following to apply: High school seniors and currentundergraduates, those who plan to enroll full time at a four-year college oruniversity in 2013-2014 those who plan to major in a field of study thatfocuses on engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in theautomotive industry.

Foundation for Rural Service

Amount: 30 scholarships, $2,500-$5,000each.

Eligibility: Students may also beeligible for four FRS Staurulakis  FamilyScholarships valued at $5,000 each. Students who are majoring in math, science,engineering, or medicine are given preference for the FRS Stauralakis FamilyScholarship

Odd fellow & Rebekah Lodgesof Montana

Amount: Several $500 scholarships

Eligibility: Only choose students with aGPA of 3.0 or less. Must attend a College, university, Vo-tech, Business, etc.in Montana.

How to apply: All required informationasked on the application, synopsis of future plans, include the college youwill attend and your major. A paragraph about your family, please indicate ifanyone in your family is or was a member or an Odd Fellow or Rebekah lodge. Whyyou are applying, what your financial needs are. A transcript of your gradeswith cumulated GPA. A Photo of yourself. Three letters of recommendation: onefrom teacher, one from friend or relative, and one from employer.

Horatio Alger Association MontanaScholarship Program

Amount: 50 high school seniors to theamount of $5,000-$10,000.

Eligibility: Students must pursue abachelor’s degree at the University of Montana or Montana State Universitysystem schools. These schools have agreed to match the $5,000 statescholarship, doubling the scholarship value to $10,000.

Montana Tech of U of M: REAL Scholarship

·         Amount: Up to $1,200

·         Eligibility: Seniors planning to enroll at Montana Tech and major in Computer Science.

·         How to apply:  The scholarship is made of online module quizzes starting October 1, 2012.  There are 5 modules that students can participate in, with the first 4 modules earning $150 and the 5th, $300.  Online at http://.cs.mtech.edu click the scholarship link on the left.

·         Amount: Varies

·         Eligibility: Seniors planning to enroll in Ithaca College, majoring in Cinema & Photography, Communication Management & Design, Documentary Studies & Production, Emerging Media, Film Photography & Visual Arts, Integrated Marketing Communications, Journalism, or Television-Radio.

Plum Creek Community Scholarship

·         Amount: $1,000

How to apply for all three: Register online at www.scholarship.mt.gov and then fill out the application.  If applying for just the MERIT-AT-LARGE, you can mail your completed application when ready.  If applying for ALL THREE, you must wait until you complete the current semester, to send in your transcript and application.  If you do not wait, your application will not be considered, or returned to you to correct.  You will also need to send in a copy of your acceptance of admission to one of the colleges listed and proof of your ACT or SAT score.

Montana County Clerk & Recorder’s Scholarship

·         Amount: $1,000

·         Eligibility:  Seniors planning to attend a Montana college or University with an anticipating major in Accounting, Business Administration, Political Science, secretarial or government related studies

The American Legion Legacy Scholarship

·         Amount: Varies

·         Eligibility:  A high school senior who is the child of United States military, reservists, or National Guard member who passed away while in active duty after September 11, 2001

The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year

·         Amount: $2,500 - $10,000

·         Eligibility: High school senior boy who has received his Eagle Scout award and is active in his religious institute.

 Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative Scholarship

·         Amount: $500

·         Eligibility:  Seniors served by, or parents served by Blackfoot Telephone planning to attend any college or university.  Preference is given to students planning to stay in-state and those studying fields related to telecommunications.

The SAMMY-Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year

·         Amount: $7,500

·         Eligibility:  Any high school senior, who participates in a school sport during their senior year, planning to enroll full-time in an accredited college or university.

Washington Crossing Foundation

·         Amount: $500 - $5,000

·         Eligibility: Seniors planning to attend college and work a career of service to the United States in local, state, or federal government.

Community Medical Center Foundation

·         Amount: $500- $1,000

·         Eligibility:  Seniors planning to pursue education in a health care field including physician, dentistry, physical therapy, pharmacy, social work, clinical psychology, medical records, medical tech, clinical laboratory, plus more with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Universal Athletic Service Student-Athlete Scholarship

·         Amount: $500 to male and female student-athletes

·         Eligibility:  Seniors planning to attend a Montana College or University, minimum 3.0 GPA, competed in 2 different Varsity sports, student leader

Great West Division, Inc. Cancer Survivor College Scholarship Program

·         Amount: $2,500 and possibly renewable up to four years

·         Eligibility:  Any student diagnosed with cancer before age 21, US Citizen, accepted without condition to an accredited university, college, community college, or vocational school, and minimum GPA of 2.5.

Horatio Alger Association, Montana (extended from the National Scholarship)

 Farmer’s State Bank (Scholarship Management Services)

·         Amount: $2,500 may be renewable for 4 years.

·         Eligibility:  Seniors planning to enroll full-time in a 2- or 4-year college or university.  Preference given to students with 2.5 – 3.5 GPAs and a family income less than $50,000.

·         Amount: $2,000

Watson’s Children Shelter Alumni Edcuational Support Fund

 Missoula Job Service Employers’ Council: Back on Track Scholarship

·         Amount: $1,000

·         Eligibility:  Senior facing obstacles or challenges to achieve success in high school.  Minimum 2.0 GPA and planning to attend a Montana post-secondary institution.

 Missoula Federal Credit Union

·         Amount: 8-$1,000 scholarships & 1-$2,000

·         Eligibility:  Members, or children of members of the MFCU who are graduating seniors.  Minimum 3.4 GPA, ACT or SAT of 22 or 1530, and rank in top 25% of class.

 Samsung American Legion Scholarship for Juniors

·         Amount: Varies

·         Eligibility: Juniors who are a direct descendant, i.e. child, grandchild, great-grandchild of a US veteran who served during a period of war AND a delegate of American Legion Boys State or Girls State.

·         Deadline: Contact your American Legion Boys State or Girls State Program to determine deadline date. Typically applications are submitted upon arrival at each Program week.
